National Makeup Day: The Do’s Of Wearing Makeup

Happy National Makeup Day! Makeup is my first love. I fell in love with makeup at a younger age. I grew up feel unpretty, and so when I discovered makeup, I wore it to make me feel beautiful. Sounds lame, I know. However, makeup gave me unmatched confidence, and it brought out a different side of me that I love to date. As I grew older, however, I have learned there is more to makeup application. I wear makeup to enhance and accentuate my beautiful features.

I have picked up great practices along the way as I learned about makeup application and artistry. Here are some do’s of wearing makeup that will tremendously improve your makeup game:-

Prep Your Skin

After cleansing your face in the morning, do not be tempted to skip using a light moisturizer, SPF, and primer before your foundation. Applying makeup will be easier if your skin is taken care of, and the overall outcome will appear more natural.

Set Your Foundation With Powder

After putting on foundation, always ensure that you dust over a powder that has a feather-light formula. Applying powder helps set your foundation, and it will stay put throughout the day.

Clean Your Makeup Brushes

It is important to keep your beauty tools as clean as possible. Your makeup brushes come in contact with your face directly, cosmetic bags, and other makeup storage, becoming breeding ground for bacteria. Using dirty makeup brushes can cause your skin to break out.

Wash Off Your Makeup Before Going To Bed

Always ensure that you wash off your makeup thoroughly before going to bed. Sleeping in your makeup may clog your pores hence cause you to start having breakouts.

Use A Magnifying Mirror

Invest in a magnifying mirror to make sure your coverage is even, your eyeliner is sharp, and your lipstick is applied beautifully.
