Nairobi R&B Gold Dust Edition Concert Cancelled

Nairobi R&B, a collective that specializes in live performance shows, has announced that the Gold Dust Edition of their Nairobi R&B concert has been cancelled. The event, which was scheduled to take place on April 29, 2023, was a special one, as it was organized in collaboration with The Whine Down KE, a women-led event circuit that curates an all-female lineup.

In a press release shared on their social media handles, Nairobi R&B was cagey about the real reason behind the cancellation, citing “factors beyond their control” in the memo. The company expressed regret about the cancellation and offered to work closely with their ticketing partner, HustleSasa, to ensure customers are reimbursed in a timely manner.

The Gold Dust Edition was set to be graced by four performers, including singers Maya Amolo, Elaine, Shikkeiy, as well as DJ BBYY on the Island. Maya Amolo, joined the collective in expressing her disappointment about the cancellation, tweeting to her fans in response “I promise y’all will see me on stage real soon.”

Nairobi R&B was founded by media personality and entrepreneur Faiza Hersi to promote the African R&B and Alté scene. The collective has become well-known for its live performance shows, which showcase some of the best talents in the African music industry.

Although the cancellation of the Gold Dust Edition is disappointing news for fans, Nairobi R&B’s commitment to customer satisfaction is commendable. The collective’s offer to work closely with their ticketing partner HustleSasa to ensure customers are reimbursed in a timely manner shows that they value their fans and are committed to providing the best possible experience for them.
