Nairobi Gears Up For The CBA Concours D’Elegance

There aren’t that many opportunities for Nairobians to get genuinely dolled up during the day time – in the kind of frivolous style that would look out of place at any event that’s not polo or golf.

And we’re really not that into polo – or golf. So cars and bikes it is.

The Concours d’Elegance is considered East Africa’s premier showcase of luxury cars and is organized by the Alfa Romeo Owners Club.
This year, it will be taking place at the Ngong Racecourse on the 24th of September, and we’re already excited about it.

If you are genuinely into your motors, a 1974 Laverda with a 1000cc triple cylinder engine and a 1966 triumph TR6C are among the rare bikes which will be seen for the first time in Nairobi.

The event has already attracted a full field of 70 cars including a triumph TR4 sports car and a Ford Capri coupe along with around 40 bikes.

The oldest MG sports car at the Nairobi Racecourse will be the 1947 TC model of Sati Gata Aura which we be up against Julia Wilcock’s 1952 MG TD in the sports car class.

This will be the 47th edition of the event and will culminate in a grand parade of all the Concours cars and motorcycles as well as a fashion show in keeping with the Concours d’Elegance spirit.
