Save the date and start looking for your Nairobi Fashion Week outfits. The organizers of the event have announced the dates of the next edition for November 25th and the venue too. The event will be held at the Sarit Expo Centre and it promises to be a big moment for the industry after a long hiatus. In other parts of the world, fashion weeks play different roles such as trendsetting and a major business component.
Kenyan fashion events are still a little more niche but we must applaud the companies and individuals that are doing their part in keeping the fashion scene alive. James Brian Kihindas the creative director of Nairobi Fashion Week is one such person. He started the event in 2013 and has been spearheading it since then. Other than the beautiful designs, Kihindas focuses on the business angle of fashion in the country too.
Nairobi Fashion Week’s theme for 2022 is “Blue Print” and the organizers want to focus on making Nairobi one of the fashion districts of the continent as well as attracting stockists and more designers.
