Rapper Naiboi has creativity to thank for his viral video “2 in 1” released last week, not a huge budget and professional editing.

The rapper revealed that he spent almost zero shillings to shoot his new video which has a few celebrities making a cameo.

The video has celebrities such as Musyoka, Nyashinksi, Bigpin, Eric Omondi, radio presenters Cate and Shaffie making a cameo. Naiboi said most of these celebs recorded and sent their clips via phones.

“There was no budget. Most of the videos were sent to me via phone or email, and even for the editor, I just bought him lunch. I would say it was a zero budget song,” said the singer.

He went on to add that though some artist prefer injecting millions in their videos, on this one, he just wanted a simple song. He also asked other artists never to ignore the power of creativity.

In just one week, the song has reached a quarter million views on Youtube.

“I respect those artistes who put up a budget on making a video because I do the same. But they should not forget that creativity comes a long way eventually,” he said.

Musyoka of Decimal mastered the song while the guy who got lunch as a ‘thank you’ for editing the video goes by the name Director Doll$.
