Songbird Nadia Mukami finally dropped the highly anticipated music video of her song Wangu in which she featured songstress Sanaipei Tande. The track which off her latest EP African Popstar has been trending on major music streaming platforms and even a popular Tik Tok challenge since its official audio release last month.
Wangu which is a typical ‘That Boy is Mine’ Situation, is about a quarrel between two women who are in love with the same man. One being the side chic and the other, the wife. In the lyrics both women express their reasons for staying with the said man and brag about being the true love of this man. This song is also a manifestation of Nadia’s long time desire to work with her music role model Sanaipei Tande.
The video which was directed by seasoned video director J Blessing, brings out the hatred between the two women who are bound by their love for the same guy. The quality shots also showcase their determination to keep their mutual lover. Actor Keith Chuaga who acts as the man being fought over, properly executes his role as a cheating husband who has no qualms benefiting from both his side chic and wife’s unconditional love for him.
With over 30k views on YouTube in less than an hour after its premier, there is no doubt that fans are feeling the video just as they loved the track. This iconic collaboration with Sanaipei Tande puts a stamp of approval on Nadia’s lyrical prowess and capabilities as an entertainer.
