Mr Eazi Makes Nairobi ‘Shoki An Dab’

Ghanaian superstar Mr Eazi who is enjoying some international attention at the moment hit the streets of Nairobi this past weekend. Privee Westlands was the spot he would entertain patrons on Saturday night and he did bring down the house.

Privee lounge saw it fit to fly in the star on their first-year anniversary celebrations. The club was rammed to the rafters as patrons jammed to music by Dj Kace, Dj Cliq and an impromptu performance by ‘Gudi Gudi’ stars Everlast.

Eazi took the stage at 1am and was overly excited by the fans love for his music. The one-hour time band saw him perform songs like Sample You, anointing, Skintight, Hollup, and Bankulize. His mega hit Dance for Me received major ruckus forcing his to sing the jam over 5 times. The fan love was too real to a point which the ravers sang the whole jam start to finish.

It was evident from Saturday night that the love for west African music among Kenyans is not fading away soon and Mr Eazi added more sauce to it with his amazing stage presence and vibing with the crowd.

The ‘Shoki and Dab’ hitmaker rose into the limelight in 2015 after signing a major deal with Starboy records (an outfit by Wizkid from Nigeria). He has garnered over 10 million YouTube hits 2016 alone and landed some major collaboration. Burna boy jumped on his song Bankulize for the remix scaling it to wider outreach. Eazi’s rise to fame has been fast from his ability to churn out hits using English and pidgin.

Mr Eazi is currently on tour performing in U.K, Tanzania, and he will be headed to Nigeria, Ghana and close out in  Maryland USA.

Nairobi has become the one stop shop for acts across Africa and an all-important market in the East Africa region. Privee has hosted Mi Casa from South Africa, Fuse ODG, Flavor in the recent past. We have seen artists like Diamond, Ali Kiba, K.O, Runtown, Burna Boy, HHP among others land in Kenya just to launch a song or perform for one night. Expect more acts to hit Nairobi before the year closes out.
