Miss Universe At 18: Stacy Michuki Says Obstacles Did Not Stop Her From Getting The Crown

2019 Miss Universe Kenya, Stacy Michuki has shared a reflection of her journey in pursuit of the Miss Universe crown and how she eventually won the contest despite the obstacles.

In a detailed statement, Miss Michuki as she is popular known revealed some of the major obstacles that she had to overcome to get achieve her dream.

According to her, being young and unfamiliar to the beauty pageant industry would possibly make it twice difficult for her to win the competition. However, two things that drove her were passion and ambition.

“I walked into a field I knew nothing of. I heard so many times that my age and lack of experience was against me. I asked you to take a chance on me. Take a chance on an 18-year-old girl who has nothing but passion and ambition.” she stated

Stacy who was the youngest contestant in the Miss Universe competition also gave credit to Kenyans for supporting her adding that it was one among the things that kept her going.

“I embarked on a journey and Kenyans were there for me. Your endless love and support pushed me each day. I woke up each day to do it for Kenya.” she wrote

Beyond her achievement, Stacy says her venture into this field, and the fact that she took a chance opened her up to more opportunities.

“I have met and worked with amazing people from around the world. I have made new friends and acquired sisters for life,” she added

Her modelling career has since been on an upward trajectory and has so far been featured as a model on International platforms. She leaves us in suspense as she hints on a deal that will see her embark on a new journey.

“As I prepare to embark on a new journey I just want to thank everyone who has walked with me. Everyone who believed in me even when I didn’t, everyone who pushed me to dream big.” she wrote
