Marua Becomes First Female Celeb In Kenya With Golden Plaque

Kenyan celebrity Diana Marua has made history, becoming the first female Kenyan personality to receive the prestigious YouTube Golden Plaque. The milestone, awarded for reaching one million subscribers, was celebrated in a heartfelt Instagram post on July 1, 2024.

Marua expressed her immense gratitude to her fans, acknowledging their crucial role in her success.

“The First Female Artist and Content Creator in Kenya to Receive the YouTube Golden Button for achieving 1 Million Subscribers. Words fail me to express my gratitude to every single person who watches my content. I started Content Creation to Inspire, Educate and Connect with my people across the Globe. #DIANABAHATI is not just a YouTube channel, it is a force,” she remarked.

Marua’s Remarkable Journey

Reflecting on her journey, Marua shared that she began creating content seriously during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the uncertainties of those times, her dedication paid off, culminating in over one million subscribers five years later.

“I opened this channel in July 2019, I became serious about creating content in 2020 (during Covid). We hit 1 million subscribers on February 17th, 2024. It’s taken 5 years of hard work, commitment, and resilience. It has taken an entire nation to get this far. To every single person who watches and supports our content, this Golden Button is our win,” Marua said.

In her celebratory post, Marua emphasized the collective effort that led to this achievement. “You made this happen! I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. With so many ups and downs, we did not lose focus. The family is still growing and all I can say is, I value every single one of you,” she added.

The Role of Bahati

Marua also attributed her success to her husband, Bahati, expressing deep appreciation for his unwavering support. “To my Hubby @BahatiKenya, you have been my Biggest Support System and Cheerleader. Thank you for Holding my hand through this journey. I Love You,” Diana noted.

Diana’s achievement follows closely on the heels of another milestone for the couple. A month prior, Diana and Bahati launched their Reality TV show, ‘The Bahati Empire’, becoming the first Kenyan couple to stream their reality show on Netflix.

“We Were the First Kenyan Family to have a Reality on National TV (Being Bahati on NTV) and now we make history as the first Kenyan family to have a Reality Show on Netflix. All Glory Goes to our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s official! The first Kenyan /East African reality show on Netflix is #thebahatisempire, which premiers on Friday, June 7, 2024… Oh Yes, I know you all had missed us on TV,” Bahati shared.

Diana Marua’s historic accomplishment is not only a personal victory but a testament to the power of resilience, support, and community in achieving great heights.
