There has been a lot of mystery surrounding Star Wars recently, but now we finally have some news; and they’re exciting to say the least. As revealed by Vanity Fair earlier today, Lupita will be starring as the motion-capture character Maz Kanata in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”
Lupita’s character is a pirate with no allegiances to either the Resistance or the Empire. Without disclosing too much information, Vanity Fair reported that Lupita is portrayed as a rebel queen of sorts. She appears to be in charge of a band of travelers, smugglers and other outcasts and runs her operation from out of a castle.
Vanity Fair photographer Annie Leibovitz traveled to London’s famed Pinewood Studios recently and revealed the information.
People have been speculating that Lupita would make an appearance in the movie ever since October of last year, and now it has finally been confirmed.
