Lupita Shares Her Kenyan Home With Vogue For October Issue

Lupita Nyong’o invited Vogue magazine into the heart of her Kenyan home for her second straight October issue of the iconic fashion mag.

The colorful photo collection was inspired by the Oscar winner’s new film ‘Queen of Katwe’, the tale of a Ugandan girl who excels at the game of chess.


“To play a mother of four in Uganda, a formidable mother who has so much working against her, was so compelling to me. It wasn’t something I thought I’d be asked to do. The fact that it was based on a true story, an uplifting story out of Africa . . . . Oh, my goodness, all my dreams were coming true in that script,” she told the magazine about the movie.

Perhaps there isn’t a more beautiful dream come true than returning to your roots to share where you’ve come from.
