The only way is up, and Lupita Nyong’o has clearly taken it upon herself to be the living embodiment of that mantra.
The actress, who is set to appear on our screens next year in Black Panther, could already have secured herself a new gig, if the internet is to be believed.
Sony is set to reboot Charlie’s Angels – a TV show that focuses on beautiful women taking part in some badass set pieces – and the release date has been set for June 2019.
This is despite no leads having actually been cast.
However according to Hollywood informer The Wrap, Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o are both in early talks with studio executives.
Charlie’s Angels tells the story of three women who work as touch and talented private detectives for an unseen millionaire. It was originally broadcast as a TV show between 1976-1981 starring Farrah Fawcett, Kate Majors and Jaclyn Smith.
The franchise was last made into a movie 17 years ago, with a sequel released in 2003. The film starred Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. And of course. Destiny’s Child had the song of the year with Independent Women.
Go Lupita – we’ll definitely be watching this space.
