Wine Connoisseurs from across the city were treated to an evening of wine-ing and dining as the Crowne Plaza became the focal point for a Nederburg takeover.
The event was hosted by Neil Groenewald – head winemaker, Distell South Africa, and looked to showcase the vast array of offerings by the group, as it looks to invest in what is a rapidly growing consumer market.
Far removed from the stuffy pretension of what usually characterizes a typical wine event, Nederburg treated guests to an enthusiastic, engaging evening full of laughter, education – and of course, wine.
It’s a personal journey for many, and unsurprisingly, an intimate one: wine can be about excellence, passion, confidence and familiarity – or it can be exclusive and out of reach. According to Groenewald, ‘‘There’s no right way or wrong way to taste wine. It’s at times as simple as whether you like what you are drinking or not…”
Nederburg’s line is considered one of South Africa’s biggest sellers, and most decorated wines. They are currently distributed by the Kenya Wine Agency Limited (KWAL) in Kenya.
