Longest TV Series In Kenya, Selina, Coming To An End

With a record of 935 episodes and counting, Maisha Magic East Swahili telenovela “Selina” is finally coming to an end.

According to Maisha Magic East, the program will be terminated in April this year after six seasons, making it the longest TV series in Kenya.

Selina is coming to an end to pave way for another program with a similar gist. The TV channels, however, hasn’t revealed much on what is on the way.

“Undisputed king of prime-time TV every season and is bowing out as the greatest, longest-running daily TV show in Kenya,” said Margaret Mathore, Head of Channel, Maisha Magic East.

“We have created stars, employed and upskilled hundreds of young creatives, touched and entertained millions of households for the last four years, and for us, the bar has been set high.”

The series began in January 2018 as among the first of GOTV’s programs that were being introduced to the market then. It has seen several actors and celebrities featured throughout the years.

Some of the famous stars of Selina include Pascal Tokodi, Celestine Gachuhi, Brenda Wairimu and Joyce Maina, among others.
