Former NTV Journalist Lolani Kalu has landed a TV job weeks after Kenyans offered their support to see him bounce back in the media industry.
The veteran media personality confirmed this news after he revealed that he has signed a contract with TV47.
In his new role, Lolani has been tasked with covering news from the coastal region and this will see him make a comeback on our screens.
“I have signed a one-year deal with TV47, the opportunity came after fans saw me shooting my personal shows with one of the artists I was interviewing having TV47 branding.
“Fans called TV47 to find out if I had signed a deal with the station, and that prompted them to hand me a contract. I will be a coast regional reporter covering the six counties,” he stated.
Lolani who was popularly known for his shows Malimwengu na Lolani and Gumzo Mtaani while working for NTV also hinted at plans to bring the shows back on air.
After his retirement in 2017, Lolani’s struggles became a public concern after a photo of him went viral. According to the journalist, things became difficult for him after his uncle and father’s battle with ailment.
This new job will possibly see him stabilize his finances and get him back on track. As he expressed his excitement for securing this deal, Lolani also thanked Kenyans who supported him and is intentional about giving back to society as he embarks on his new journey.
