It has been billed as an ode to the motherland – a new song from Coke Studio Africa that features Avril, Sauti Sol, Nyashinski and Dela.
It’s been a pretty intense few months and the song seemingly dropped at the right time. Written by Mr. Vee renowned for penning Mercy Masika’s “Mwema”, and produced by producer Cedo, best known for producing Nyashinski’s hit record “Mungu Pekee”, the song is fusion of what’s happening here, now – and what’s happening across the globe, sonically.
Cedo spoke on Kenya Yetu, saying, “it appreciates Kenya and is a constant reminder of how beautiful a nation Kenya is. It also encourages the spirit of brother-hood amongst other traits that makes Kenya unique…”

Other Coke Studio Africa stars from Kenya on the show this year include The Band Beca and Khaligraph Jones.
Catch Coke Studio Africa every Sunday night on Citizen TV from 8pm to 9pm.
