Unlike many Friday and weekend gigs, most if not all mid-week events are usually curated to cater to a specific audience thus offering a more wholesome and intimate entertainment experience.

In addition to their unique offerings, many mid-week events also provide a platform for upcoming and very niche entertainers to share their music with fans. Despite this, the contribution of such event organizers to the entire creative economy is often overlooked.

Nakili Sessions

Timeless music is a full-time job at Nakili Sessions. The event is the brainchild of Musician Mutoriah and it happens at The Beer District, Westlands every Tuesday. Skankin’ Wednesdays

Reggae fans are welcome to enjoy fire mixes by Brooks The DJ at Skankin’ Wednesdays. Organized by Empire Sound and Notanartist, this affair goes down weekly at the Moov Cafre and Bistro, Wood Avenue, from 4 pm.

The Fanisi Experiment

In case you are in search of a delightful live show, Fanisi Africa hosts the Fanisi Live Experiment every Wednesday evening at the Geco Café along Mbaazi Avenue from 7 pm. This is a live show concept in which select niche artists perform. So far, its stage has been graced by Wangechi, Kaa La Moto, and Trabolee.

The Wine Down

Do you know what other thing goes well with wine? Live music. Taurus Musik hosts The Wine Down every Thursday from 7 pm. An intimate live music show that takes place at the Wine & Bottle, Ambiance Mall, Ring Road, Parklands. The show usually starts at 7 pm and has some of the most beautiful live renditions of your favorite songs. Aurie, Meryl Paige, and Ruguru are just some of the artists who have performed at this stage.

One Love Thursdays

All roads lead to the K1 Klub House every Thursday for their Reggae show, One Love Thursdays. Having been graced by Kenyan Reggae heavyweights such as Kris Darling, Dotty Family, and Gravitti Band, this event has gained a reputation for serving unforgettable live music and DJ mixes.
