Kenyans Mourn Legendary musician Kunguru

Legendary Kenyan musician Eric Onguru aka Kunguru passed away at the Nairobi Hospital Sunday, March 19th at 2:00 pm at the age of 44.

During an interview with Kiss FM’s Dennis Milimo, the veteran musician’s former manager shared how Kunguru had been in and out of Nairobi Hospital for weeks.

The former manager added that the star has been in and out of Hospital since 2017 following a prolonged illness to an accident he suffered back in 2009/10 that affected his spinal cord.

Kunguru was a talented artist who was best known for his club-banging tunes “I Will Never Let You Go” and “Baby Don’t Go,”. His music and style led him to be baptized as a ‘ladies’ man’.

Media personality Gidi Gidi was among the first to mourn Kunguru, taking to social media to express his sadness.

“RIP my friend KUNGURU,” Gidi wrote.

Kunguru was among the few talents that were retained by Ogopa Deejays when the company terminated the contracts of most of their signees.

Despite his success in the music industry, many would be surprised to learn that Kunguru also worked in the banking industry.

The news of Kunguru’s death came as a shock to many of his fans, who expressed their condolences and paid tribute to his musical career on social media.
