Kenyan Virtual Concerts to Watch This Weekend

The weekend is finally here and more and more concerts are taking the action online to keep their fans engaged, despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. Below are some virtual Kenyan gigs to keep you entertained over this Mother’s Day weekend, in their chronological order:

  • Trace Live Kaka Sungura Vs King Kaka

This one of a kind gig is set for 8 May 2020 and will be graced by King Kaka. The event which is sponsored by Trace Eastern Africa, Safaricom, Showmax, DSTV, Workstyle and Remmy Martin will have King Kaka perform both his throwback and recent releases. The Dundain rapper will also be joined on stage by Fena Gitu, Amos & Josh, Femi One and Pascal Tokodi. To book your front row seat to this event, tune into Trace Live Youtube channel and Facebook page from 8 p.m.

  • DJ Kace’s 29th Birthday

This music event is scheduled for 8 May 2020 from 10 p.m. DJ Kace who is also known as The African Mzungu will be celebrating his 29th birthday by dropping 4 exclusive mixes for his fans at the comfort of their homes. The show will going live on zoom. The meeting ID is 254-254-1234 and the password is Alchemist. Get your dancing shoes and drinks ready for this special birthday party.

  • Koroga Festival

Scheduled for 9 May 2020, this will be the second virtual edition of the Koroga Festival. This edition will be headlined by the one-man guitar legend Mike Rua, who is not new to the Koroga Festival stage, as he was one of the performers during the Love Edition of Koroga Festival, that took place in Naivasha earlier this year. The concert is scheduled to go down on all Koroga Festival’s social media platforms from 9 p.m. This comes after the South African Gqom Music Duo Distruction Boyz, brought the Koroga virtual stage down last weekend in the premier Virtual Koroga festival.

  • Blankets and Wine

Headlined by the very talented Sol Generation signee Bensoul, this gig will be going down on 10 May 2020 from 8 p.m. The Lucy hit maker will be performing his classics such as Niombee, Peddi and Favorite Song among others. You can enjoy this special concert from the comfort of your house by simply tuning in to Blankets and Wine’s  Instagram Live from 8 p.m. So far, the virtual Blankets and Wine stage has been graced by artistes such as Mbithi, Nviiri The StoryTeller, Kabochi and Miss Karun.
