Kenyan Talents Shine On the East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards Nomination Roster

The East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards (EAEA) is back. The voting phase for the 2024 edition, is open inviting fans to vote for their favorite East African nominees. With over 50 categories spanning music, dance, media, digital, DJs, and more, this prestigious award aims to honor the rich and diverse talent within the East African music scene.

The competition is fierce as artists and entertainers from six East African nations vie for recognition, with the battle of the titans commencing this month and extending until the polls close on March 9th, 2024. Among the nominees, Kenyan entertainers stand out prominently, securing slots in several coveted categories.

Leading the pack in Kenya is Nadia Mukami. Her song “Mi Nawe” featuring Arrow Bwoy has nominations in the “Collaboration Single,” “Lover Choice,” and “Music Video of the Year” categories. Additionally, Nadia’s acclaimed 2023 EP “Love & Vibes” is nominated for “Studio Album/EP of the Year.” She also competes in the “Female Artist of the Year” and “Best Collaboration Single – East Africa” categories for her song with Darassa, “Siko Sure.”

Bahati also garners attention with nominations in multiple categories. These include “Lovers Choice” (Mtamu Ft Rayvanny), “Collaboration Single” (Baby You Ft Nadia Mukami), and “Best Collaboration Single” – East Africa (Diana ft Bruce Melody). Bien, of the famed group Sauti Sol, earns nods for “Best East-West Continental Collaboration Single,” “Studio Album/EP of the Year – East Africa”, and “Collaboration Single of the Year – Kenya.”

Kenyans dominate the “Best Rapper/Rap Group/Rap-Fusion Single – East Africa” category, with Khaligraph Jones, Femi One, and Wakadinali competing alongside Tanzania’s Stamina and Darassa. In the realm of music production, talents such as Cedo, Ihaji, Trevor Magak, and Motif Di Don represent Kenya in various categories, showcasing the nation’s prowess behind the scenes.

Bridget Blue got recognition as her inspirational hit “Kesho,” was nominated for “Best Inspirational Song – East Africa.” The sultry voiced singer is also a nominee in the “Best Breakthrough Album/EP – East Africa” and “Best Breakthrough Act – Kenya.” Renowned dancers Aggie The Dance Queen and Moya David shine in the “Best Dance Choreographer/Dance Crew – East Africa” category.

Moreover, a plethora of Kenyan music video directors, including Ivan, Nezzoh Montana, CJ Pixels, Dolls, Loly P, Trey Juelz, Omoke, Steve Mugo, Ricky Bekko, and Roadman, have nominations for their creative contributions in the music video categories. Comedians and content creators such as Krazy Kenar, Flaqo, Mulamwah, Awinja Nyamwalo, and Tom Daktari are in the “Comedian/Content Creator of the Year – East Africa” category.

Additional Kenyan nominees encompass a diverse array of talents, including J Fully Focus, Nasha Travis, Claudia Naisabwa, Azziad Nasenya, Azeezah Hashim, Mungai Eve, SPM Buzz, Mambo Mseto, The Morning Kiss, The Trend, and Otile Brown, among others.

Fans can cast their votes for their favorite nominees via the East Africa Arts Entertainment Awards website. The winners will be honored at a gala ceremony scheduled for March 10th, 2024, promising to be a night of celebration and recognition of East Africa’s vibrant arts and entertainment industry.
