Kenyan Meshack Ochieng’ Wins Global BodyBuilding Championship

Kenyan bodybuilding star Meshack Ochieng’ has won the recently concluded Natural Atlas bodybuilding competition which took place at the Stafford Convention Center in Houston Texas.

As a result, Ochieng’ was awarded $5,000 (Ksh 613,200) after beating five other competitors in the competition organized by the Global Bodybuilding Organization.

The 39-year-old, who was raised in Mumias despite being born in Homa Bay County, thanked his sponsors and attributed his success to hard work.

“Being fit is all, and I thank God otherwise I would have been a chicken farmer, but I truly work hard; I don’t have a coach, I’m my own coach. However, with the help of my sponsors, I’m able to get the quality of what you see here,” Ochieng’ shared.

After winning several major natural bodybuilding titles in Africa and the United States, Meshack Ochieng’ now has his eyes set on one specific title won by some of the natural bodybuilding greats such as Steve Reeves, Tom Platz, and Boyer Coe.

“It is time to go for that iconic one title that has the real bodybuilding history dating back to 1939,” he stated.

Earlier this year, Ochieng’ secured the Mr. America Bodybuilding Championship title which took place in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He was awarded $US 50,000 (Ksh 6 million) along with the Mr. America Gold Medal.
