When it comes to long-distance racing, full or half marathon, the country that comes to mind world over is Kenya. Since 1986 when Kipchoge Keino shook the world on the race road, successive generations have flown the Kenyan flag high in every race home and abroad. Kenya scoops the gold in all major athletics competitions, sometimes taking numbers one to five.
From the home of running champions come the worlds greatest running shoe. In case you have not heard this great news, a formidable shoe designed, tested and produced by Kenyan minds has been declared to be among top shoes. Gear Patrol has named the ‘Enda Iten‘ shoe among the best in the category of ‘The Best Running Shoe for the All-Around Pavement Pounder’ for the second year in a row. This is big deal for such a young brand and first of its kind for Kenya.
The ‘Enda Iten’ is a world-class Kenyan running shoe based on the advice, skills, and experiences of great Kenyan athletes. Its named after Iten- a small nondescript town in Kenya known for producing running champions.
With features such as a 4mm drop between the thickness of padding at the heel and under the forefoot. A Wider Toe Box that created more space for the pinky toe that is found in many other shoes to ensure it’s not squished into or under its neighbor. A Full Rubber Outsole gives you grip and protection on the pavement and on other surfaces, such as light trails. If you land on a small rock, you won’t feel it the way you might on a shoe with a less substantial outsole.
If we all support the founders of this course, the entire production of the shoe will be in Kenya hence creating more jobs and some sense of national pride.
