Kenya Fashion Awards is set to launch its 5th Annual Fashion Show and Awards as well as announce the 2017 nominees on Thursday 13th July 2017, at the Fairmont The Norfolk Hotel, Nairobi.
KFA seeks to honor and celebrate outstanding performance in the fashion industry. It’s committed to developing excellence and growth in a sector that is of significant contribution to the Kenyan economy. “We recognize, nurture, support and promote regional fashion talent to a global market through raising awareness of the importance of adaptation of local brands and highlighting Kenya and the African region as the next fashion destination,” says Dorcas, the Organizer.
Aside from the awards, KFA also creates opportunities for the youth through business/talent development programs designed to support, and empower with the goal of raising next generation of professionals with the industry. One its events dubbed “NextGen Fashion Weekend” provides a stepping stone for emerging talent which attracts Upcoming Designers and Fashion Design Students from different colleges and universities across the country. This year’s event will be held on 4th & 5th August 2017 at the Michael Joseph Centre and winners announced during the Gala.
The 2017 nominees will be highlighted on the Kenya Fashion Awards official website during the launch and winners derived through a three month worldwide voting process on the same platform. All winners will be announced and recognized during the Awards Gala to be held on 7th October 2017.
