And with even loftier ambitions than before – the 2017 event has been dubbed The Fashion Takeover and is looking to highlight creativity, achievement and excellence in African fashion.
The ceremony takes place on the 8th of December and will be recognizing and rewarding outstanding personalities in the fashion industry who have impacted the continent. Kenyan designers and personalities will be battling it out against not only the biggest artists from the East African region but noted fashion superstars from across Africa.
To this end, a category of Fashion Entrepreneur Africa has been announced. The awards will go to individuals who have shown outstanding commercial success of their businesses or personal brands.
To support the youth and aspiring fashion entrepreneurs, this year, the ASFA team is organizing the inaugural ASFA Business workshop that will take place in November, aimed at empowering young people with skills and knowledge of how to turn their passion into meaningful businesses and profit making ventures.
