Kenyan Actress Wins Two Awards For Role In Nollywood Movies

Kenyan Nollywood actress and producer Connie Kabarry has bagged two awards in Nigeria’s Nollywood Excellence and Leadership Awards (The NELAS) 2018, held in Abuja State on September 30.

Taking to social media, Kabarry broke the news that she has won the Nollywood Pan African Film Maker of The Year (East Africa) and Nollywood Actress Of The Year (East Africa) awards.

“Our prayers were answered and here we are. A double award it is! I appreciate you my people and I promise to work harder to bring more awards, God is faithful!” she said on Facebook.

The awards comes a few years after she was rejected locally by producers while kick-starting her career. She tried her hand in acting in Kenya but many producers turned her down.

“I know so many people are passing through the same because I was getting messages from so many people who wanted me to help them explore their talents,” she said during the launch of her Connie Kabarry Productions in Kisumu a few weeks ago which will see upcoming filmmakers get a chance to showcase their skills.

Your prayers were answered and here we are… A double Award it is! I appreciate you my people and I promise to work harder to bring more Awards, God is faithful! #itcanonlybeGod
