Silver Pictures has rounded up an impressive cast of passengers for Jaume Collet-Serra’s “Non-Stop,” as Anson Mount (“Hell on Wheels”), Corey Stoll (“Midnight in Paris”), Linus Roache (“Batman Begins”), Lupita Nyong’o, Omar Metwally and Jason Butler Harner are set to join Liam Neeson in the airplane thriller.
Neeson plays a federal air marshal who starts receiving text messages from someone claiming to be on the same flight and who is threatening to kill a passenger every 20 minutes unless the protag kills himself.
Julianne Moore and Michelle Dockery co-star alongside two of Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch in 2012 — Nate Parker (“Arbitrage”) and Scoot McNairy (“Argo”).
“We’re thrilled with the first-class cast boarding ‘Non-Stop,'” said Joel Silver, who is producing for Silver Pictures along with Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman. “It’s wonderful to reteam with Jaume and Liam as we move forward in this exciting new chapter of Silver Pictures.”
“Non-Stop,” which marks Silver Pictures’ first film under its new distribution deal with Universal Pictures, is being fully financed by Studiocanal, whose chairman-CEO Olivier Courson pegs the budget at about $50 million.
Neeson’s “Unknown” helmer Collet-Serra is directing from a screenplay by John Richardson and Chris Roach.
Production starts Nov. 1 in Gotham, and Studio canal will shop foreign rights at the upcoming AFM.
Lupita just wrapped a key role in Steve McQueen’s period drama “12 Years a Slave,” while Metwally will next be seen in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2.” Innovative Artists reps Metwally and Nyong’o, who is also repped by Didi Rea of D2 Management.
