Kenya Women’s Upset Reigning Basketball Champions To Win Gold At FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup In Cairo  


Kenya Women’s 3X3 basketball team are the reigning FIBA Africa Cup 2023 champions after beating hosts and defending champions Egypt 21-20 at the finals in Cairo.

Kenya and Egypt were undefeated on their way to the final, but Egypt enjoyed the advantage for most of the game on Sunday.

Steps away from victory with a 19 – 13 lead, Egypt saw the gold medal slip away as the Kenyan ladies made a comeback.

Natalie Mwangale who was named the MVP of the game called the game with a huge buzzer-beating two to seal the improbable win for Kenya.

Team Kenya definitely came for the win, as Madina Okot was also an undeniable star of the game with an 11-point, 18-rebound performance.

Natalie Mwangale took home the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award at FIBA 3×3 Africa Cup 2023 championship.

Mwangale’s offensive and defensive prowess made her the game’s heroine.

She put on a show all tournament, capping her 23 points event with an incredible buzzer-beating two to upset home side Egypt in the Final.
