Kenya Morans Pull First-Ever Win At AfroBasket Championship

Kenya Morans pulled a first-ever win at AfroBasket after beating Mali 72 – 66.

The Kenya National Basketball team last participated in the African Basketball Championship in 1993.

About AfroBasket Championship

AfroBasket Championship is the men’s basketball continental championship contested by the senior national teams of Africa, played once every four years.

Kenya Morans Lineup

The championship is currently underway at Kigali Arena, Rwanda.

The Kenyan team lineup comprises of captain Griffin Ligare, Situma Khaemba, Eric Mutoro, Victor Bosire, Fidel Okoth, Tylor Ongwae, Albert Odero, Valentine Nyakinda, Desmond Owili, Ronald Gombe, Tom Wamukota and Okall Koranga.

Liz Mills is the lead coach, assisted by Gaya Collins, and Abel Nson at the technical bench.

AfroBasket Group C

Kenya is in Group C.

The team Started the AfroBasket Championship rally on a slower note, having an unsuccessful bid against Ivory Coast and Nigeria.

However, Morans pulled the first-ever victory at the Basketball Championship, beating Mali on Sunday in their final group C match.

With that Morans are just a win away from their first-ever AfroBasket Quater Finals appearance.

The determining match will go down on Tuesday.
