Kenyan film “Shoto” has been nominated for the prestigious Best of NFML (New Filmmakers Los Angeles) awards for Best New Media.
Shoto is about a matatu driver whose route runs from Umoja to town and back, was nominated for the prestigious award on Sunday. It was funded by the US Embassy in Kenya, which also assisted the Stories Found project.
Azali Ishmael, one of the filmmakers, was more than thrilled following the nominations. Taking to social media, Ishmael said:
