Kenya Film Commission Calling For Submissions For The Reel County Film Festival

The Kenya Film Commission (KFC) is calling for submission for its new contest dubbed the Reel County Film Festival. With the aim of promoting the local film industry across all 47 counties, this contest hopes to bring together filmmakers to create content that will promote the cultural, social, and economic activities of their respective counties.

Participants can submit films in features, documentaries, short films, and animation categories. Their submissions will then be reviewed and shortlisted by the 5 member jury that is drawn from the commission and other players in the film business.

The films submitted must be classified by the Kenya Film and Classification Board (KFCB), produced in Kenya by Kenyans, and feature Kenya actors. The submissions should be accompanied by 400 words or less synopsis, duly filled entry form, trailer, and poster. Click here for details on the specifications for the submissions.

Selected submissions will be screened on the commission’s YouTube channel and the producers of the selected films in each category will be awarded a content screening fee of KES 70,000 each. Reel County Film Festival will also feature other activities such as film reviews through panel discussions and virtual workshops.

Are you up for the contest? Hurry and make your submission via We Transfer to the email submissions@filmingkenya.com before the 11th June 2021 deadline.

Wishing you all the best!
