The Kenya Conservatoire of Music, in partnership with Tusker Malt, brought Christmas early at the Carols At The Courtyard Show. The event which took place at the Kenya National Theatre Courtyard featured beautiful live performances. These included traditional Christmas carols, classical pieces, and big band tunes.
Hosted by the Kenya Conservatoire Womens’ Orchestra Founder Wandiri Karimi, the show set the tone for the festive season. Not only did the attendees get amazing music renditions of the songs, but they also got to sing along. The stars of the night were the Kenya Conservatoire of Music. They performed popular carols such as Silent Night, Joy To The World, Nyathi Onyuol, and Mary’s Boychild, among others.
Their set also had a delightful pop arrangement performance. It featured popular songs such as Bruno Mars’ Grenade, Imagine Dragons’ Radioactive, Adelle’s Hello and Rolling In The Deep, David Guetta’s Titanium, and Miley Cyrus’ Wrecking Ball.
Apart from Kenya Conservatoire of Music performances, The Sound of Music Choir also got on stage and wowed the crowd with their amazing vocals. Their 3 songs set had popular carols O Night Divine, We Three Kings, and Feliz Navidad.
Closing the show was Maskani Big Band who performed popular Stevie Wonder songs such as Isn’t She Lovely. Their performance also included an Opera rendition of popular Luhya song Mwana Wa Mberi, carols such as Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas, and their own composition dubbed Pretty Little Monster among others.
