Homeboyz winger Cyprian Kuto has traveled to England to join Kenya 7s for London Sevens set for Saturday May 20, 2017 at Twickenham stadium.
There is a provision by World Rugby that a team take an extra player who can step up anytime a team loses a player instead of just naming non-travelling subs who end up taking time before reaching event destination.
Kuto had already been listed for Paris 7s but he did not travel with the team on Monday last week.
Head Coach Innocent Simiyu is expected to use Kuto in London where Kenya is in pool A with Paris 7s champions South Africa, USA and Wales.
Manguvuman, as he is popularly known, took part in Dubai and Cape Town 7s but was not selected for any other leg. he had an outstanding local sevens circuit with Homeboyz.
Media reports before Paris 7s indicated some players remained behind when the rest of the team left for France which may have contributed to Kuto’s absence in Paris.
In 2016’s London 7s, Kenya beat Portugal 22-17, lost 24-12 to champions Scotland and 29-12 to France.
Maximum points at London 7s will Kenya Sevens move at least to 11th in the standings to finish on a high in a season that has seen them play mostly in the challenge trophy.
