KBC English Service’s Legendary Show ‘Sundowner’ Event Lives Up To Expectations

KBC English Service’s popular radio show, Sundowner, held a successful event at The Park in Kitengela over the weekend that saw diehard country music fans flock.

Dubbed “The Sundowner Sunset Date”, the event was a collaboration with Kenya’s famous country singer Sir Elvis and was broadcasted live on the show by Catherine Ndonye and John Obong’o Jr.

Sundowner is the longest-running Radio show in Kenya today. Started in the mid-fifties by the British in Kenya, Sundowner is not just a Radio show, it is a show that unites Kenyans locally and keeps the memory of home alive among those scattered across the world.

The programme is aired from Monday to Sunday from 6pm to 7pm. It continues to attract new fans each day while sustaining many of the old ones despite competition from modern music and the ever-changing demographics.
