Kenyan rapper Katapilla, who famously won the Odibets Rap Challenge, is set to be a judge in the upcoming ‘Who Is Next’ competition that is organized by Lightbulb Entertainment (LBE). Along with fellow rappers Monski and Rhymes AB, Katapilla will be form a three-judge bench that will decide on the fate of young creatives in this exciting competition.
LBE is a marketing and PR company that focuses on experiential marketing and consumer research. They also handle communications and organize a series of entertainment events targeting university students in their early 20s. According to the LBE website, ‘Who is Next’ is a performance stage that gives a platform to creatives from different fields.
An excited Monski, expressed gratitude via her twitter handle. She wrote that she feels honored for having been selected as an adjudicator in the competition and she is ready to be play her part.She and her counterparts will be handling the auditions stage of the competition starting on May 8, 2023. They will be held at the Thika campus of Mount Kenya University.
For their 2023 edition, LBE has teamed up with the Kapooow Campus Tour, an ongoing outreach event by the same company.The Kapooow Campus Tour is currently working with six campuses and is focused on finding and honing emerging dancers.
Once the company identifies the talents, they take them through a curriculum that includes master classes as well as mentorship programs and the opportunity to perform live alongside industry professionals. Registrations for the audition are currently ongoing on the LBE website.With the experienced judges in place, the competition promises to be exciting, and we can’t wait to see what the young creatives have in store for us.
