Karun, Xenia Manasseh Among Featured on Sichangi’s New EP

Kenyan-born, South African-based rapper and producer Sichangi has released a 10-track EP dubbed “Soundtrack to a Heartbreak’ that includes Kenyan artists.

The EP, which has been in the works for four years now and has been recorded between Kenya and South Africa, is mainly about sharing his story.

“Nobody will tell it for you better than you can yourself. So many people helped me in their own ways. Couldn’t have done it without you,” he said.

The album features a string of Kenyan artists such as Karun, Xenia Manasseh and Lisa Odour Noah. It has a 90s theme and was recorded with that era in mind.

“Inspired by a lot of 90s hip hop and R&B, expect to hear lots of rhythmic melodies and experimental references to that time, both lyrically and sonically,” he said.

The new album follows the Hold On EP which Sichangi released in 2018, proving to any doubters that he’s an incredibly skilled and talented producer.

Sichangi has in the part worked with some big names in the industry, including Camp Mulla’s Taio Tripper, Marushka and Kenyan rockband Mankind.
