Kalasha International TV & Film Market Returns This June

Kalasha International TV & Film Market returns this June at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC). Organized by the Kenya Film Commission, (KFC) this is a 3-day trade fair showcasing various companies from East Africa and beyond.

Under the theme, ‘Film Business: The Economics of Content Creation In The Digital Era,’ the fair happens from 10th till 12th June. Over the years, Kalasha International TV & Film Market has taken pride in offering high-level trading interaction, and networking opportunities for filmmakers and enthusiasts.

The 2022 edition which is its 5th, will feature informative interactive sessions. These include conferences, workshops, exhibitions, film screenings, coaching, pitching, location mapping, Reel County Film Festival, and speed dating sessions.

In addition to the interactive sessions, the event will also have a pitching competition. This is open to all practicing and upcoming filmmakers registered for the market. Participants will get a chance to pitch a concept or project to potential investors in 4 categories. These are Film – Feature / Short, Animated TV Series / Animated Feature Films, TV – Series / Soaps / Shows, and Documentaries.

In the past, this trade fair has hosted respected filmmakers such as Sarah Hassan, John Allan Namu, Walter Mong’are, etc. While the list of this edition’s speakers is yet to be announced, KFC is promising a great lineup.
