Kalasha Awards 2019 Full List of Winners

The annual Kalasha Awards finally went down on the 30th of November 2019, at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi. The glitzy affair was attended by various Film industry players such as KFCB CEO Ezekiel Mutua, political leaders such as Nairobi Women’s Representative Honorable Esther Passaris, actors, actresses and film crew among others.

This edition of the Kenya Film Commission (KFC) organized event received 959 entries in the 34 categories that were up for voting. This was the first-ever edition to give monetary gifts to the winners. The winners also received other goodies from the sponsors.

Best Special Effects: Kitambo- Willis Wanyiri

Best Director of Photography: The Whistle Blower – Abdi Shuria

Best Documentary: My Cancer Story – Uncensored Mtaani – Elijah Kanyi, Africa Uncensored

Best Sound Designer: Lost In Time – Karanja Kiarie

Best Local Language Film: Jonarobi – Robin Odongo

Best Director: Lost In Time – Peter Kawa
