In Pictures: Koroga Festival Queens Edition

The 21st edition of the celebrated Koroga Festival went down last weekend at the Carnivore Grounds, hosted by Capital FM. It proved to be a celebration of the Queendom.

The two-day, bi-monthly event saw an all-female line-up handling performances and the overall entertainment for the revelers celebrating the greatest African acts from around the continent, at the same time celebrating African food & culture.

Kenyan songstresses Mercy Masika and Sage opened up the stage on Sunday. Masika’s tunes like Mwema, Shule Yako, and Milele warmed up the crowd despite the ever threatening heavy grey clouds.  Sage brought her Afrosoul energy specifically tuned for a live performance.

Nigerian Afropop Queen Yemi Alade graced the stage performing hits like Johnny, Africa, Na Gode, Ferrari, Kissing, Tangerine as well as her collaboration with Sauti Sol Africa and surprising everyone as she belted out her rendition of Mungu Peke by Nyashinski.
