July’s 10th edition of Blankets and Wine was hosted by Grammy Award winning British singer/songwriter/producer and actress, Estelle. Rounding out the musical performances were Blankets & Wine Founder and fierce femcee, Muthoni the Drummer Queen, the sultry Sage and soulful Jarel.
The festival brought out the music, the food, the fashion and the art. The festival also featured fashion pop-up stores by Embody Fashion, Bongosawa, Republi.ke, Adele Dejak and Sandstorm.
The vibe was fun and relaxed, with so much to do and see with live sketches by Naddya, flower crowns by Maua Jua as well as the highly popular Silent Disco.
Estelle took to the stage right after MDQ and with the crowd already warmed up and slightly drunk as the crowd sung along (or slurred along) to her jams, ‘Come on Over’, ‘Conquerer’ and her hit ‘American Boy’ had the crowd going wild. The West London native came back for an encore doing renditions of ‘Killing me softly’ to the elated audience.
