Former NTV anchor Idah Waringa has landed a job at China Global Television Network (CGTN).
Waringa who anchored sports news at NTV revealed she’s already in Beijing, China for the new gig.
She previously worked as a sports reporter and anchor at Radio Africa Group before moving to Nation media.
The seasoned sports journalist produced ‘Acakoro: From Grass to Grace,’ a short documentary that won Best Kenyan Story at the 2018 Kenya International Sports Film Festival.
She has hosted several high-profile sports events including; the Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke tour and the Magical Kenya Open Golf.
Waringa also hosted the CIA Sports Disputes & Arbitration Lecture, the Safaricom Sports Personality of the Year Awards (SOYA), and the Athletics Kenya Golden Gala Awards.
During the course of her career in Kenya, Waringa has interviewed some high-profile sports personalities, including Theo Walcottas well as Football legend Ronaldinho.

Sharing her excitement for the new challenge, Waringa announced her move on social media, stating it is a great challenge moving from sports.
“Moved to Beijing, became a News Editor with CGTN English at HQ.” She wrote, adding ….
“Moved on from my beloved sports and onto a new challenge. Been having a nice time,” wrote Waringa.
She joins the state-run Television network owned by broadcaster China central, where she will serve as a news editor.
