East Africa’s Premiere Hip Hop event the Unkut Day Party 3 took place on Madaraka Day at Moov Café. The event brought together throngs of Hip Hop enthusiasts to celebrate 50 years of Kenyan Hip Hop and culture. Everything from the setup, playlist, performances, and fashion, oozed Hip Hop culture, and a tinge of African beauty.

The organizers kept their word, serving patrons tons of fun activities including a street fashion exhibition, dance, board games, and body art. Moreover, the attendees were spoilt for choice as several vendors set up wares such as décor, vapes, clothes, accessories, art pieces, etc.


Another highlight of the event was the ‘Unfinished Business’ rap battle between Tangale and Qwaroo from Wise Guy Ent. The two rappers thrilled the attendees with their lyrical spontaneity, stage presence, rhyme, humor, and messages.
That was not all as spin master Kev the DJ manned the decks through the show keeping fans bopping their heads to their favorite Kenyan Hip Hop music. Moov Café also came through with delectable and discounted meals and drinks.

Unkut Day Party 3 Live Performances
In addition to the fun activities, the Unkut Day Party performers’ lineup was studded with both established and upcoming acts that had the fans sing along word for word. From young rappers such as Snaidah Don Dada, Hozef, LB, and Bussa J to fast-growing acts such as HR The Messenger, Asum Garvey, and Jodye Faneto this event’s role in promoting Hip Hop artists in Kenya remains vital.
The show ended on a high note with amazing sets by Boutross Munene and Abass Kubaf. The two stars performed their top hits like Angie and Chapaa respectively among other songs. Unkut Day Party season 3 lived up to the hype by connecting several Hip Hop artists, to their fans. The event also set the pace for the highly anticipated Unkut Hip Hop Awards 2023. We can’t wait to see the nominees list.
