The annual Harmony Kenya Foundation Concert went down at the MPESA Foundation Academy last weekend. Organized to create awareness of the foundation’s efforts in Music training in Kenya, its execution was a choral and orchestral masterpiece.
Over 300 students drawn from several Kenyan schools graced the Harmony Kenya Foundation Concert stage to showcase their vocal, instrumental, and live performance skills to a thrilled crowd of music orchestral enthusiasts. The showcases encompassed a wide range of genres from African traditional music to classical sets.
Some of the schools in participation include Nairobi School, Precious Blood Girls Riruta, Pumwani High School, Moi Girls High School Nairobi MPESA Foundation Academy, and Westlands (Primary) School. Additionally, there also performances from the celebrated Orchestral music virtuoso, Ghetto Classics.
Music training is Harmony Kenya Foundation’s core business. Since its establishment 13 years ago, the foundation has been keen on supporting music departments in schools. This is through various initiatives such as donating musical instruments, providing tutors to train the students, and creating employment for exemplary musicians from the schools.
