How Comedy Live went Down; A Night of Comedy and Music.

I’m a big fan of stand up comedy. I really do enjoy it so I’d say I was pretty excited about attending Comedy Live, which went down on April 30th at Prestige Plaza Ballroom. I was probably a little skeptical about whether these comedians would really bring it though, my bad. The performances were by Klint Da Drunk from Nigeria, Dr. Ofweneke and music by Dela. Oga Obinna AKA Oga@DTop hosted it while DJ Emvy ensured that the guests remained entertained throughout with his mixes.

Tickets cost 5000 for the VIP, 1500 at the gate and 1000 for advance. The Ballroom at Prestige is pretty intimate so the only difference between having a VIP ticket and a regular one was that the VIPs automatically got a bottle of wine and food while the regular had to pay for their food and drinks. In terms of seeing the stage, everyone could no matter what corner you’d sat.

Dr. Ofweneke started off the night with his first set. There was plenty of laughter in the crowd and that’s how I knew that it could only get better. Rather I hoped that it would… and it did.

After that Klint Da Drunk got on stage and had the crowd going wild with his “drunk” act. Each performer had two sets, with breaks from Dela who started off her set with a tribute to Papa Wemba who recently passed away and who clearly had an influence on Dela’s music.

DJ Emvy took over the after party as guests danced the night away.

I really have nothing to say about the event other than it was awesome and we all had a blast.
