Good News For Gondwana Fans

Gondwana music events have become popular in the Nairobi party scene.

Last December the entertainment company celebrated its second anniversary with more than twenty successful events in their portfolio. The pandemic may have put a pause to the vibe full Sunday sessions but evidently the big honchos like DSTV and Trace Mziki have been paying attention and acknowledge how powerful the African house music curators are.

This week, the Gondwana KE Instagram account shared some great news:

“We are extremely excited to announce our digital residency with @traceeasternafrica’s House Of Trace. Every week we will showcase the most exciting Afro-House DJs & producers, alongside our residents @suraj.kenya & @euggy_dj, paired with iconic views of our vibrant city Nairobi, Kenya. The show will be available on @traceeasternafrica’s Facebook & YouTube channels as well as Trace Mziki. We hope you can join us on this exciting musical journey and we can’t wait to share these moments and music with you ❤️“

The residency will be a welcome replacement for those who frequented the event held at Captain’s Terrace on Mombasa Road. The movement is going to grow bigger with more eyes and ears on them.

Some of the previous acts who’ve performed at Gondwana include Cairo, Jackie Queen, Cory Centric, Sun El Musician among others. They all bring heavy vibes and the shows were really something to look forward to. We look forward to their return.

Over the last few weeks, the fire House Djs continued to do their thing online but we expect this to be bigger and better. As soon as curfew and cessation became a reality, the team birthed ‘Gondwana Sunday Stream’. Despite these tough times, they kept serving moments of soulful sessions that could fill their fans with nostalgia.

It is no secret that the event space has been hit hard by COVID– 19 and those on the back end have to face the unexpected change in their operations. One can only wonder; is this the way to go with the musical experience now that there is no telling when exactly we will be able to attend concerts and shows? Until then, be sure to catch Gondwana KE every Sunday at 7 pm on Trace Mziki and on Trace Tv on YouTube.
