At some point in one’s life, you begin to be more curious about the things you love to do, eat or in this case to drink. Whether it’s your daily cup of tea, coffee or your favourite wine, beer or whisky.
Honestly, depending on your first interaction with whisky- you may have a loving or not so loving relationship with it. It’s no secret that Kenyans love their whiskies. Just take a look at the most ordered or advertised drinks around you.
Big names in the whisky market such as Glenfiddich have a growing presence locally. Just recently, Struan Grant Ralph, was in town for the second time to train bartenders, offer bespoke tastings and launch the Glenfiddich 21 Year Old.
The launch that was at the newly opened Club House on the 10th Floor of Trademark Hotel was attended by whisky lovers, media personalities and club owners.
Guest had a chance to sample the Glenfiddich 21 and enjoy other classic cocktails made with the other varieties. We also got to watch a cool video of the process they use to distill.
It’s a remarkable whisky that has been matured in both American and European oak casks for 21 years and finished for four months in American oak barrels seasoned with Glenfiddich’s own Caribbean rum. Wondering what it tastes like? It has intense sweet vanilla and floral notes and a vibrant peppery smokey taste.
The award winning Glenfiddich 21 is available at leading retailers and selected prestigious bars across the city.
