Her storyline has played out like from a movie script and now, at only 13 years old, singer Gracious Amani is set to drop her debut album ’13’.
Amani, popularly known as Githurai Girl, became an instant sensation after singing Alicia Keys’ song “Girl On Fire” early this year.
She will drop her EP on December 2, just a month after finishing her KCPE exams.
“The EP is called ’13’, and it is based on my 13 years since I was born, and of course the five months that have changed my life,” she said in an interview with The Star.
Singer Daddy Owen, Moji Short Baba, Timeless Noel and Pitson are among those expected to grace the event.
With three songs out, Amani G shared that having Size 8 on a track one day will be a dream come true.
Size 8’s transition from secular to gospel impressed her and it’s the kind of change she wants to inflict on people.
“Size 8 has also been my mentor, although I have not met her. The way she was before turning to gospel is very different to who she has turned out to be now,” she said.
“She was different, now you see her down on her knees, praying, and that is who I want to be. I want to be interceding for people. She was very naughty in her music, but God has changed her. I would also like to be a more godly person and to never part from His ways.”
