Gigs Of The Week: Njaanuary Is Finally Over

Poleni Concert

Roots International will be hosting the Poleni Concert on 29th January 2022 at the outdoor Amphitheatre, National Museums of Kenya. This concert seeks to recognize and reflect on the effects of COVID-19. Its theme is Loss, Grief & Healing in Pandemic Times.

Additionally, the organizers are promising to deliver two shows. While one at 3 pm at the Matinee, the other an evening concert, will take place at 6 pm. Its stage will be graced by Olivia Ambani, Maia von Lekow, Isaac Kimani, and Kato Change. Zote Face Presents Richie Sax

Saxophonist and Jazz Maestro Richie Sax will be serving smooth Jazz music live at the Captain’s Terrace, along Mombasa Road. The action will be going down on Saturday 29th January 2022. It will commence at 4 pm and go all the way till late. Moreover, the entry is absolutely free.

The Journey Pinye 50+1

Find your dancing shoes already because veteran Kenyan spin master DJ Pinye will be bringing the house down. Pinye will be celebrating 30 years of music on Saturday 29th January 2022 at the Carnivore Grounds. The show will be graced by 8 DJs and is set to commence from 4 pm. Fancy Fingers Live At The Alchemist

Sauti Sol member Fancy Fingers will be performing at his very first live solo show this weekend. Set to take place at The Alchemist, the concert will be going on Sunday 30th January from 10 am. Besides, Fancy Fingers will be joined stage by Nviiri The Storyteller, Bensoul, Ach13ng, Lone Tree, Manaseh Shalom, Gachuri Gitema and Ivan Kwizera. Tickets are available on Hustle Sasa.

Poetry Sundowner

Poetry lovers will be in for a special treat at the Poetry Sundowner. This show is set to take place on Sunday 30th January. Hosted by Mumbi Poetry, Cole Agneta, and Tessy Aura, the event will be taking place at Cheche Bookshop in Lavington from 4 pm till 7 pm. Furthermore, the attendees will be treated to poetry performances, conversations, and open mic. Remember to carry your shukas, drinks and snacks. The entry fee is KES 600.
