Welcome to a brand new month, this where you keep up with the latest trends in the Kenyan music scene weekly.
Here’s our spotlight on fresh new music this week.
Sailors – Wainame
Wamlambez hitmakers Sailors seem to have the correct formula in making club banger anthems. We were just jamming to ‘Pekejeng’ and ‘Queen B’ now we got another one. ‘Wainame’ is an instructions manual for the ladies in club to get down while they twist, turn and gyrate. The jam follows a specific rhythm, catchy beat and easy-to-remember hook. Check it out below.
Nviiri The Story Teller- Addicted
Sol Generation’s signee Nviiri has a banger by the name ‘Pombe, Sigara’ that is doing quite well for the last two months. He’s come back again with ‘Overdose’ that follows the same melodic formula as the last. The jam has a slow grind vibe to it, draws melancholy and speaks to the lovers. Nviiri is a talented cut and he is definitely cutting his niche.
Kayvo Kayforce – Ghetto Rhumba
You know when it comes to bars Kayvo Kforce got a truckload of that. He is putting together an EP titked ‘Converstation’ to be released soon. Ghetto Rhumba is the 4th track off that EP produced by AJ and Vince On The Beat. Kayvo raps about the hustle life in Nairobi while comfortable riding a Rhumba-inspired beat. This is a great listen just be sheer talent, bars, delivery and cadence Kayvo possesses.
