Fresh Music Friday: What’s New In The Kenyan Music This Week!

16 August of 2019 by

We close out another week ecstatic to highlight what’s hot and trendy in the 254 music scene. As the debacle between artists and MCSK ensues fighting for what is right, we keep moving the culture forward by highlighting our art.

Naiboi – Sondeka

Pacho Entertainment CEO Naiboi is out with a new banger called Sondeka. The jam has a different appeal as it is a social commentary on all the low-key annoying behaviours Kenyans have. The jam is a dope listen and relatable. I’d score it 8/10.

Otile Brown – Siku Yetu

The ladies man Otile Brown has stuck to one winning formula and it is working for him. On his records, he sings for and with the ladies where he is accepted wholesomely. He enlists socialite Amber Ray for this video and cajoles her with love lines all through. Check it out below:

Willy Paul feat Ali Kiba and Ommy Dimpoz

This is a very interesting collabo of singers from East Africa we didn’t see coming. The three cats are super talented and their delivery on this record is beyond exemplary. The jam settles on love issues, delivered in Swahili Sanifu. This is bound to be a hit across East Africa.
