Ferdinand Omnayala Secures Victory in France’s ‘Mondeville Athletics Meeting’, Setting National Record

Sprinting sensation Ferdinand Omanyala secured a big win in the ongoing Mondeville Athletics Meeting.

The Africa Champion dashed to the finish line ahead of Ivorian Athur Cisse and Briton Charles Doson to secure the first position in the men’s 60m final.

The Track Star crossed the finish line in 6.55 seconds to set a national record in 60m.

Omanyala who kicked off the season over the weekend in France in the second leg of his France indoor tour is set to take part in ‘Meeting de Paris’ and ‘Meeting Intl Lievin’ on 11th and 15th of February before returning to Kenya for Kenya Weekend meet at Nyayo stadium on 24th and 25th February.

Ferdinand Omanyala Reacts To Setting 60m National Record in France.

The 27-year-old saw an improvement from Mirama’s 6.60 seconds time recorded over the weekend.

Commenting on his win at Mondeville, France Omnayala wrote, “A great result tonight. National record.”

Omanyala who revealed at the beginning of the season he intends to break more records, added the France indoor meets are preparations for his greater 200m national record-breaking ambitions.

“Actually, this season, I will be more focused in the 200m races and hopefully compete in international events.” He said.
